At a White House press conference on September 23rd, President Trump said “Well, we’re going to have to see what happens…Get rid of the ballots and you’ll have a very..there won’t be a transfer, frankly. There’ll be a continuation.” These few sentences, spoken by the United States commander-in-chief, threaten the stability of a country with over 300 million residents.
The U.S. has struggled to accept its reality for the past presidential term: a formerly respected republic run by a demagogue. A man who has little care for the legitimacy of democracy nor its ability to facilitate the workings of a unified and equitable country. The U.S. has faced instability and bipartisanship at an extreme level for the past three years and a half — exacerbated by the heightened political climate of the 2020 election.
